Sleigh Bells sound like hip-hop, pop, hardcore, metal, dance-- but above all else the Brooklyn duo sound like now.

After breaking out during last October's CMJ festival, singer Alexis Krauss and guitarist-producer Derek Miller became instant online favorites, their louder-is-better attack crushing computer speakers to bits. Months later, they were playing shows with M.I.A. and releasing their debut LP, Treats, to rave fanfare. It all seems a bit sudden even in the age of broadband, but both Miller and Krauss have lots of experience working for them; he was a member of hardcore band Poison the Well, she was a child performer, vocal coach, and studio singer.

When their time came, they were ready.
