The Cribs
Biography
The Cribs are an English 3-piece indie rock band from Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The band consist of twins Gary and Ryan Jarman and their younger brother Ross Jarman. The band, who first became active on the concert circuit in 2002, were initially tied to other like-minded UK bands of that time, most notably The Libertines, by a British music press that were looking for a 'British rearguard' to the wave of popular US indie rock bands of the time. In 2008, Q magazine described the band as "The biggest cult band in the UK".
In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull marks a return to The Cribs' classic three-piece status and heralds another chapter in the upwards trajectory of the Jarman brothers. Recorded in upstate New York courtesy of David Fridmann's Tarbox Road studio with Fridmann at the controls, a short self produced session at London's Abbey Road and a few days in Chicago with producer Steve Albini at his EAR studio, the band have certainly clocked up the miles recording this hotly anticipated follow up to 2009's Top Ten album 'Ignore The Ignorant'.
