Scribe

Biography

How many dudes you know flow like this? Not many, if any !

Scribe is undoubtedly the shining star of New Zealand's much celebrated young hip-hop scene.

Following his outstanding guest appearances on P-Money's Big Things album, Scribe has released his debut album The Crusader in both New Zealand and Australia to much acclaim.

"Scribe is arguably currently New Zealand's best rapper but if he continues pumping out material like what's contained on this, his debut album, he's bound for world domination."
4 out of 5 stars, SLM, DAILY TELEGRAPH

  • 'Not Many' is an infectious track produced by P.Money.

  • The commercial single release, is an AUSTRALIAN EXCLUSIVE and includes the original version, remix version, acappella, instrumental and also features STAND UP.

  • The Remix! features killer guest verses from Savage of Deceptikonz and Con Psy of b-net award nominees Frontline, plus crazy new lyrics from Scribe.

  • In NZ The Remix! has now sold in excess of 20,000 copies in NZ and is certified double platinum.

  • 'Not Many' was the 6TH MOST ADDED track to radio first week in and instantly added to High Rotation on Triple J in Australia

  • SCRIBE's first solo show held at Club 77 after the BDO in January SOLD OUT within 5 minutes of the doors opening!

  • THE CRUSADER debuted at #17 on the ARIA Urban chart, and still remains in the top 20 after 20 weeks.

  • SCRIBE is the first KIWI artist to ever simultaneously hold the number one spots on the album and singles chart.

  • For a KIWI artist to sell gold within hours and platinum within days in their home country is phenomenal. The album is now Quadruple platinum in New Zealand having sold 65 000 albums to date in the three months since release!

  • 'Stand Up' (NZ's first single release featured on the album THE CRUSADER) spent 12 weeks at Number #1 and holds the record for the longest running number one by a NZ artist.

  • SCRIBE's recent jaunt here on the CITY RULES tour with P-Money, Mark Ronson and Daniel Merriweather was definitely the hottest ticket in town, as Scribe seduced the crowd with his Hip Hop stylings.

  • SCRIBE will be back in Australia touring mid May with D-Form as his DJ and some Salmonella Dub East Coast dates - watch this space!

It is by any measure, something more than an impressive debut!!

"If Scribe hailed from Los Angeles or New York, you can bet he'd be hotter than hot right now. Whether a hip-hopper from New Zealand can take on big wigs has yet to be seen; but he's certainly got the talent to do so. " electricnewspaper.com

"Scribe certainly has a stage presence and is one artist that is able to straddle the ground between the underground and the commercial ease."City Rules tour review, 3D World
