After The Fall

Biography

After The Fall's sound is an amalgam of melodic punk rock and rock - the Central Coast quintet are rapidly making their name as the next 'band to watch'.

Although new to FMR, After the Fall have been touring intensely for the past 24 months. Having toured with AFI, Dashboard Confessional, BoySetsFire, Strike Anywhere and 28Days, the band have developed a tidy little fanbase, which was proven by the 3000+ sales of the 'As Far As Thoughts Can Reach' EP (Resist 2003).

It was decided early on that ATF should not release any singles but purely make albums. It's an 'old school Rock ethic' type thing that seems to be a running theme with this band. After The Fall are as much influenced by The Angels, AC/DC or Midnight Oil as they are by their modern day Punk Rock contemporaries and this is what defines their distinctive sound.

The acceptance of the first album track 'Mirror Mirror' at radio and TV has been encouraging and there is definitely interest building around the act.

The self-titled album released on June 27 2004, was one of the most anticipated Australian debut rock releases of the year. Strapped with the best of what punk, rock and pop have to offer, After The Fall defy the definitions and take their music to an honest place unhindered by the pit of having to fit someone else's mould. After hearing the album, Blunt Magazine had the following to say: 'This self-titled debut is the result of a lengthy recording process and certainly stands as a notch of professionalism on ATF's belt. Maybe not as innocently energised as their first release, As Far As Thoughts Can Reach, this offers a more subdued and focused direction for the Central Coast boys. Production is top-notch and Aussie identity is delivered proudly in spades.'

After the Fall came together in 2000 on the Central Coast of NSW. Members are Ben Windsor (vocals), Mark Warner (guitar), Andrew Atkins (drums), Chris Butcherine (guitar) and Mather Gore (bass).

Their first EP 'As Far As Thought Can Reach' was release through Resist and gained play on JJJ as well the band becoming a MMM 'Launch Pad' band and a Planet Rock Unsigned Find. The feature track was '3/4 binding'.

2003 saw After the Fall play on both the Livid and Falls Festivals.
The debut album was mostly recorded in the bands rehearsal space by Richard Stolz (BodyJar/ 28Days).

The band are the only the third Australian act signed to the Rapido label in 4 years. The label has released such acts as Blink 182, The Living End, Unwritten Law and One Dollar Short.
