The Australian Music Prize's annual Long List of entries in contention for The Amp 2006 has been confirmed, with 25 of approximately 200 entrants selected by the judging panel to move towards the final 8. These 25 releases will be judged again over the next 3 weeks, with the Short List of 8 entrants to be announced via a media conference at 11am on Wednesday 31st January.
The 25 artists in contention to take out The Amp 2006. The finalists represented by Mushroom Music Publishing are:
- Black Cab 'Jesus East'
- Gerling '4'
- Howling Bells 'Howling Bells'
- Sodastream 'Reservations'
- The Drones 'Gala Mill' [lastyear's winner & pictured]
- Tim Steward 'How Does It End'
- You Am I 'Convicts'
