In the second half of 2004 Talpa Music started up with a small group of 3 employees, and soon thereafter, from January 1st 2005, Talpa Music merged with 2P'sW Music, one of the largest independent music publishers in the Benelux. With this merge Talpa Music acquired the music catalogues of 2P'sW Music and the many representations of 2P'sW Music were introduced to Talpa Music. The total music catalogue meanwhile contains a small 300,000 titles and the staff has grown to 10 employees.

Talpa Music mainly occupies itself, both nationally and internationally, with the publishing of music, the exploitation of copyrights, the issuing of sheet music, the production and (sub)licensing of image- and soundcarriers, the development of artists and their image (merchandising), advisory in the music industry field, the exploitation of music by means of internet applications and administering adjoining rights.

In the international area, Talpa Music works with famous composers as Brian Rawling, Paul Barry and Mark Taylor (Enrique Iglesias, Lionel Richie, Tina Turner, Cher), Philip Glass, Brian Eno, Ry Cooder, Tom Waits, Bill Withers, Burt Bacharach, Maxi Jazz (Faithless), Lil John (Usher), Santana, Nick Cave, Kylie Minogue and many others. Also, Talpa Music administers the sub-publishing rights of many great catalogues such as Elvis Presley's and Muddy Waters' and the publishing catalogues attached to labels such as Defected Records, Ultra Records, Fabric London, Mute Records, Ninja Tune.

With national composers such as Tjeerd Oosterhuis, Tijs Verwest, Ellert Driessen, Do, Marco Hovius, Giorgio Tuinfort, Geert Huinink, Don Diablo, Matthew Dekay, The Beatkidz, Evert Abbing, George Baker, Vinzzent, Ronald Molendijk, Jeroen Rietbergen, Peter van Elderen, Ren�mesz, Peter Kriek and Ariaan Olieroock, Cor Fijneman and many others, as well as national labels such as Black Hole Recordings, Little Mountain Recordings, Extrema Music, Loyalty Records, Essential Dance Music, Basic Beat Recordings, Rhythm Records and Cyber Records, Talpa Music creates music for artists such as Ti'o, Raffish, Do, Ali B, lange Frans and Baas B, Brace, 16 Down, Gordon and Re-play, Ruth Jacott, Wolter Kroes, Rob de Nijs, Soulvation, Racoon, Peter Pan Speedrock and 16 Bit Lolita's, as well as music for a.o.
